Berniece A Hartman

Berniece Agnes Hartman, 93, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, January 1, 2020.

She was born October 1, 1926 in Croswell, Michigan to the late Byron and Gertrude Hickson. She married LeRoy C. Hartman on May 30, 1948 in an airplane at an air show in Harbor Beach. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2017, after 69 years of marriage.

Berniece was the perfect example of what a wife and mother should be. She always put everyone before herself. She was employed at Chrysler Corporation and Port Huron Area Schools as a cook. She retired from Indian Woods School. She was an active member of Wadhams Baptist Church. Berniece enjoyed reading, cross-stitch, puzzles, and gardening. She was a wonderful baker of homemade bread and pies, especially rhubarb.

She is survived by her children, Sherry Hartman, Gail (Stan) Jurk, Vickie (Brooks) Moore, Bruce (Michelle) Hartman, Roy (Kathy) Hartman, and Julie (Tod) Loeding; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Joyce McLennan; brothers, Dale (Doris) Hickson and Raymond (Elaine) Hickson; sisters-in-law, Mildred Gostinger and Donna Withun; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Hartman.

Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Friday, January 10, 2020 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 11, 2020 in Wadhams Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Reverend Stuart Cummins will officiate.

Burial will be in Kinney Cemetery.
