Robert James “Pa” "Monkey Paw” Garner, 70, of Lynn Township, died January 1, 2020.

He was born March 12, 1949 in Joplin, Missouri.

Pa worked throughout the United States as a carpenter. He was a very religious and spiritual man who also loved to study and read books. He believed that music feeds the soul, and could play any instrument he picked up. Pa was a pacifist and local cannabis activist that loved helping people.

He is survived by two children, Tabitha (Troy Rieger) Gower and Mathew Gower; loving fur companions, Evie, Blue, Baby, Scout, and Mittens; lifelong friend, Felixcia Gower (J.R. Asaro); and best friend and “brother”, Uncle Bill Hicks.

Some of Pa’s last words for those who loved him to ponder: “I would jump in if the river wasn’t so crooked and take a long, cool, nap.”
