James B Walker
James Brewster (Jamie) Walker, 69, of Vassar, MI, died Thursday, January 30, 2020. He was born July 6, 1950 in Port Huron to the late Kenneth Brewster and Mary Lou (Powell) Walker.
Jamie was a 1968 graduate of Port Huron Northern High School and attended Northern Michigan University.
He lived in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for many years and considered himself a bonafide Yooper. He returned to St. Clair County in the early 2000s and worked as a self-employed woodworker. At the age of 60, he began a career as a long-haul truck driver and fulfilled his great sense of adventure by traveling the country in his truck.
Jamie was an avid reader and history buff who made friends wherever he went. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his fiancé, Debbie Taylor; a daughter, Amanda Stephenson; granddaughters Lizzy and Annie; siblings, Kathy (Greg) Loewenthal and Randall (Melonie) Walker; niece, Katie (Craig) Steenstra; nephews, Andrew Loewenthal (Missy Hulett), Harrison Walker and Nolan Walker; great niece, Ruby Jane Steenstra; great nephew, Jackson Steenstra and special aunt, Nina Wooliever.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made in Jamie’s name to The Blue Water Area Humane Society.
