Obituary

Brenda Gail Bishop, 75, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, March 18, 2020.

She was born April 28, 1944 in Freeburn, Kentucky to the late Henry and Alena Tate. She married James Bishop Jr. on May 18, 1963 in Detroit. He died December 24, 1999.

Mrs. Bishop cherished her role as a Pastor’s wife and homemaker. She was a longtime member of the Apostolic Church of Port Huron and faithfully read her Bible.

She has seven children, James R. (Bonnie) Bishop III, Bobby (Duwyan (D) (Carla) Bishop, Jefferey L. Bishop, Pamela Bishop, Elizabeth (Scott) Cesefske, Henry Dale Youngblood (D), James E. “Buddy” Youngblood and Carl (Michelle) Youngblood; grandchildren, Inez Collins, Mary (David) Strouss, James (Becki) Bishop IV, Crystal (John) Beaver, Sarah (Tommy) Fugate, Audrey (Nate) Mangold, Kathryn Bishop, Morgan (Spencer) Gray, Jefferey (Ally) Bishop, Jordan Bishop, Jayden Bishop, Laily and Shelby Cesefske, Whitney (Ryan) Saoud, Brandon (Megan) Youngblood and Courtney (Dan) Timko; great grandchildren, Christian, Ethan, Andrew, Blake and Alivia Strouss, Corey, Caleb, Cayden, Madison and Mckinley Beaver, James Bishop V, Sophia Bishop, Christopher, Landen and Ryann Cummings, Tyler and Thomas Fugate, Kaylee and John Wallace, Gavin, Piper and Quinn Mangold, Ava Bishop, Logan and Luke Saoud, Arianna Youngblood and Maddox, Rylee, Emma and Mila Timko, Carl Ray, (Gage, Able, Noah), Kayla Michelle, Gage Wyatt (D), Lillian Cheyenne and (Riley Jade Chaffin); a great grandchild; a brother, Roger Tate; half-sister, Cindy Tate; half-brothers, Ricky and Marty Tate; and other special family members, Brenda-June (Jason) Lutze, Rosa and Alena Lutze and Troy Slone. She was preceded in death by her parents and her step father, Lon “Sleepy” Young; great graddaughter, Isabella Grace; and two sisters, Crestella June Slone and Rosa Strohm.

Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Friday in the Marysville Funeral Home, followed by private family services. Pastor Shawn Cabot will officiate. In order to keep the number of people in the building below requested limits, please come and pay your respects but keep your visit brief.

Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.
