Janet A. Stevenson, 71, of Marysville, died March 30, 2020 in her home after a long illness.
She was born August 9, 1948 in Marysville to the late Charles and Mary Snyder. She married Richard C. Stevenson on November 23, 1974 in Port Huron.
Mrs. Stevenson was a 1966 graduate of Sandusky High School. She was a busy mother of eight children who also worked at her children’s school in Tennessee. Later, she retired from the Marysville Schools as a para-pro and Title 1 MEAP coordinator at Washington and Gardens Schools.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; eight children, Nicolle R. (William) Hobock of Tennessee, Melissa Dawn Stevenson of Marysville, Joshua R. (Carmer) Stevenson of Tennessee, Ian T. (Elizabeth) Stevenson of Texas, Duggan R. (Megan) Stevenson of Tennessee, Andrew P. (Lori) Stevenson and Jarett M. (Julie) Stevenson, all of Marysville and Connor M. (Ashley) Stevenson of Kimball; fifteen grandchildren; a brother, Dan (Mary) Snyder of Arizona; three sisters, Mary Beth (the Rev. Ron) Courier, recently of Africa, Anne Bussey of Marysville and Kay (John) Watson of Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Michelle Snyder of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Robert and Susan Snyder.
A memorial visitation for family and friends will be 5-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2020 in the Marysville Funeral Home followed by a dove release. A limited number of people will be allowed in at a time. Please wear a mask for the safety and comfort of others.
The family held private graveside committal services in Riverlawn Cemetery in April.
