Obituary

Stanford J. Locke, 72, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord Monday, April 6, 2020.

He was born October 17, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Homer and Florence Locke. He married Marian Robinson on October 22, 1966 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Mr. Locke was employed as a Supervisor with St. Clair County Community College prior to his retirement. He was an Honorable U.S. Army Veteran who served in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart. He loved the Lord. He was Licensed as Minister in 1975 and Ordained as Evangelist Minister in 2000. He served as an Evangelist with Outreach Ministries and as Evangelist and Minister at Great Commission Church in Port Huron. Stanford and his wife, Marian, birthed Outreach for Christ Ministry in 1980. He facilitated with Pastor Al and Sue White to start Great Commission Church, with Tyrone and Laura Burrell to start Save Our Neighborhoods and Streets, and with Cousin who was like a Sister Janet Greenlee to start Ministry on the Move in St. Louis, Missouri and East St. Louis, Illinois. Stanford and Marian started the Gospel Radio Broadcast Program at St. Clair County Community College on Saturdays named Living Water Broadcast with Mr. & Mrs. Messenger bringing the message. Stanford conducted services at Marwood Nursing and Rehab the first Sunday of each month. He brought the gospel to youth at the St. Clair County Juvenile Detention Center once a week, with Stanford preaching and Richie Murphy rapping. He also assisted with Macomb County Prison Outreach Ministry with hands on contact with prisoners. Stanford was always there for One on One Ministering and Mentoring wherever needed.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved wife of 53 years, Marian; his son, Anthony T. Locke; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Locke; six grandchildren, Amber, Stanford III, Desmond, Darius, Ariyanna and Brittany Locke; his Aunt Lois Herron, who was like a mother to him; and many relatives and friends in St. Louis, Missouri and Michigan. He was preceded in death by a son, Stanford J. Locke II.

Public services will be held at a later date. Private services for the family will be held at Lakeside Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
