Linda M Lane
Linda Mary Lane, 76, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
She was born July 18, 1943 in Port Huron to the late John Robert “Bob” and Erma Lane.
Linda graduated from Port Huron High School. She went on to attend SC4, Central Michigan University and University of Michigan Graduate School of Social Work. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa.
She was a Social Work Supervisor for seven years in Saginaw County until her husband was transferred to the Los Angeles area. The couple lived in Thousand Oaks, California where, as a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Linda was twice elected Woman of the Year.
After being transferred back to Dow Corning Headquarters in Michigan, Linda changed professions and became a Registered Nurse. She worked for 20 years in the Specialties of Chemical Dependence, Emergency Psychiatry and Nursing Administration.
Linda was passionate about supporting just causes, children and animals. She gave financial support to the Students for Democracy in Tiananmen Square in China, Palestinian Home Land Lamas of Lhassa- Save Tibet. She was a member of ASPC, PETA, the Humane Society, Wildlife Federation and Leader Dogs for the Blind. She aided American children through Childfund and sponsored two children in Bolivia, four in Africa, three in the Philippines, and two in China.
She is survived by man cousins. She was preceded in death by her special human friends, Dixie Silcott and Timmy Pels; and her beloved animal friends, her Collie, Prince Laddy of the Lake and her Pomeranian, Jai Li.
No services are scheduled at this time. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
