Mark Sokoloff

March 23rd, 1945 to May 24th, 2020
Mark Alexis Sokoloff, 75, a Port Huron resident, died suddenly at home Monday, May 25, 2020. He was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated from Port Huron High School as President of the Class of 1963. Mark was a star athlete in baseball, basketball, tennis, golf, and swimming, and played piano and trumpet with Pat McCaffery “The Wiz Kids” group in Ann Arbor. Mark was a U.S. Army Veteran who spoke Russian and Spanish. Mark held an Associate of Arts degree from Port Huron Junior College in 1966, Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1968, Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University in 1968, and Juris Doctor from Detroit College of Law in 1977. In 1970, Mark worked as Vice President of Accounting and Business Administration at Walsh College, Troy, MI, and was named Vice President and Director of Legal Affairs in 1977. Private practice ensued. Mark is survived by two nephews, and will be missed by many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Alexis Russlin Sokoloff, and sister, Tamara Hope Sokoloff. Burial service was June 4th, 2020 at Grace Episcopal Church, Port Huron. Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Water Area Humane Society, 6266 Lapeer Road, Clyde, MI 48049.
