John Leslie Marsh, 54, of Amarillo, Texas, died December 28, 2015. John was born September 6, 1961 in Marlette, Michigan, the third of eight children born to the late Leonard Lowell Marsh and Ann Raleigh (Deaton) Pickard. He attended Port Huron High School where he was part of the Class of 1980. He was very active growing up. He loved outdoor activities, including camping, swimming in Lake Huron, and playing sports such as ice hockey and baseball. He participated in the Kimball Township Little League. He also played the tuba for the Drum and Bugle Corps in Sarnia, Ontario. He was also active at First Baptist Church in Marysville, MI. John was free-spirited, making friends and memories traveling the countryside for several years after high school. Eventually he moved to Amarillo, TX to be near his dad. John was a hard worker and worked for several roofing and construction companies. He enjoyed barbeques and loved spending time with family and friends. John was very out-going and had a way of making others smile. His laugh and sense of humor would light up a room. In addition to his mother, Ann, John is survived by siblings, Leonard W. (Patricia) Marsh of St. Clair, MI, Joanne L. Grantz of Amarillo, TX, Kathy Marsh-Steele of Port Huron, MI, Laura L. (Matthew) Graham of Clyde, MI, Steven D. Marsh of Battle Creek, MI, Daniel P. (Rhonda) Marsh of Croswell, MI and Tracy R. (Chris) Frey of Battle Creek, MI; a half-brother, Leonard G. Marsh of Amarillo, TX; 24 nieces and nephews; and 44 great nieces and nephews; step-brothers, Clarence Comeau of Mt. Clemens, MI, Randall (Deborah) Comeau of Port Huron, MI, and Jeff Comeau of Amarillo, TX. He is missed by all of his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard L. Marsh, and step-brother, Raymond Comeau, and followed in death by his step-father, Richard J. Pickard. Visitation will be 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Pollock-Randall Funeral Home, 912 Lapeer Avenue, Port Huron, MI. A limited number of people will be allowed in at a time. Please wear a mask for the safety and comfort of others. A private memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. and will be limited to immediate family. The service livestream can be viewed on John’s obituary page of the funeral home website. Everyone is invited to gather at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home parking lot for the procession to Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township, for the committal service. Pastor Ronald Graham will officiate.
