Leslie G "Les" Payne

Leslie Gordon “Les” Payne, 85, of Port Huron, died Saturday, July 25, 2020.

He was born December 8, 1934 in Port Huron to the late Carlos and Lulla Payne. He married Betty J. Bowen on October 24, 1959 in Port Huron.

Mr. Payne was a graduate of Port Huron High School and was employed by Domtar Paper Company for over 35 years. He enjoyed walking, working in the yard and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty; three children, Lynn (Dean) Jolly, Karen (Charlie) Keen and Steven (Anne) Payne; ten grandchildren, Michael, Andrew, Tim, Daniel, Kristina, Zachary, Hannah, Mitchell, Katie and Rachel; two great grandchildren, Theo and Phoebe; and a sister, Arlene Nowak. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristine; two brothers, Stan and Ron Payne; and a sister, Ellen Zaremba.

Private inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
