Robert Paul Maffit Jr., 71, of Clyde Township, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 1, 2020.
He was born February 13, 1949 in Beech Grove, Indiana to Olive and the late Robert Maffit. He married Linda Reed on December 5, 1997 in Port Huron.
Mr. Maffit was a Biblical researcher and minister. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and received two Purple Hearts, a bronze star and a silver star for valor.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; his mother, Olive; three children, Becky (Jim) Dobbs, Brad Maffit and Brandy (Joe) Stanco; three grandchildren, Andrew, Mitchell and Leah; a brother, Michael; and a sister, Joy; and several nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be held in Ruby Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
