Judith Bookrum

Judith Diane Bookrum, 70, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 26, 2020.

She was born June 21, 1950 in Port Huron to the late Ellis and Patty Cates.

Judith graduated from Port Huron High School. She was a great cook and was known for her fried chicken. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She leaves to mourn her passing her children, Audra Bookrum (Doug Botimer), Tamara Bookrum (Karl Moore Sr.), Dana Edwards (Anthony) and Ellis Bookrum Sr. (Kelly McNair); bonus daughter, Katrina Bookrum; thirteen grandchildren, Courtney Cates (Darnell), Jeremy Bookrum (Ericka), Haleigh Bookrum, Chandelle Howard (Mike), Jaime Weathersby (Vincent), Krystal Swift, Chelsea Bookrum (DeVon Washington II), Skai Wright, David Bookrum, Ellis Bookrum Jr., Drake Reed, Devon Reed and Blake Bookrum; twelve great grandchildren; siblings, Harold Cates, Janice (John) Johnson, Rev. James (Jeanette) Cates, Meredith Cates, Robert Cates, Jerilyn Cates, Marlin (Carrol) Cates and Rev. Jeffery (Latina) Cates; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and best friend since kindergarten, Carmen Currey. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Freddie Weathersby Jr.; sister, Claudette Rounsoville; and bonus son, David Bookrum.

A memorial gathering will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2020 in Hoover Park, Port Huron Township.
