George E Johnston, Jr.

George E. Johnston Jr., 69, of Kimball Township, died Wednesday, October 21, 2020.

He was born December 31, 1950 in Port Huron to the late Audrey and George Johnston Sr. He married Susan M. Burdick on October 19, 1968 in Port Huron.

George worked for New Haven Foundry and then US Farathane Corporation until his retirement. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing and yard work. Most importantly, he loved being with family and going on adventures with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Susan; son, George E. “Ed” (Nicol) Johnston III; daughter, Cheryl (Ray) Arnold; eight grandchildren, George E. Johnston IV, Brian Arnold, Ashley, Jared and Shaylyn Johnston, Jacob Arnold, and Dylan and Madison Johnston; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, James Johnston, Jed (Sue) Johnston and Robert (Kim Sass) Johnston; sister, Jane Mitchell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael L. Johnston; parents, Audrey Pendergrass and George Johnston Sr., and sister-in-law, Mary Johnston.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 in Woodland Cemetery.
