Elaine M. Kesich, 85, of Lansing, formerly of Marysville, died Thursday, November 12, 2020.
She was born August 2, 1935 in Crosby, MN to the late Louis and Ursula Kesich.
Elaine’s two oldest sisters, Helen and Sophie, had already moved away from their Crosby-Ironton, MN home by 1948 when their mother died. That left her sister, Ida to care for 13-year-old Elaine, until Elaine finished high school. Ida moved to Los Angeles with a friend, and Elaine soon followed. After Ida became afflicted with Alzheimer’s Disease, she and Elaine moved to Marysville in July of 1999. They were often seen walking hand in hand along the river. Two white-hared women in identical rust colored coats, offering support to one another, they lived together for 52 years.
Elaine was a devout Catholic. Her passions included opera and Pittsburgh Pirates baseball.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ida Kesich, Helen Skirpan and Sophie Kenny.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 in St. Christopher Catholic Church.
Inurnment will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.
