Obituary

George Roy Munn, 72, of Port Huron, died Monday, November 23, 2020.

He was born June 23, 1948 in Alma, Michigan to the late Winston and Mariel Munn. He married Carol L. Emlaw on February 8, 1969 in Port Huron.

George was a 1966 graduate of Port Huron High School and served in the United Stated Navy during the Vietnam War, receiving a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He worked in various management capacities for Michigan National and later Bank of America until his retirement. Most recently, he worked as a release clerk with Transamerican. George loved sports, especially golfing and bowling, and was a dedicated Lions fan. He coached softball for Port Huron Township little league for many years and also served as an assistant coach for the Port Huron High School softball team.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol; two daughters, Robin (Steven) Fosgard and Holly (Thomas) Dorcy; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Fosgard and Myles Dorcy; two sisters-in-law, Peggy (Matt) Beck and Gayle (Stephen) Koroly; three brothers-in-law, Patrick (Debbie) Emlaw, Glenn (Renee) Emlaw and Michael Spada; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Phyllis Munn, Doris Munn and Dorothy Bowling; parents-in-law, James and Joyce Emlaw; and sister-in-law, Connie Spada.

Memorial visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A limited number of people will be allowed in at a time. Please wear a mask for the safety and comfort of others.

A private family memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, November 30, 2020 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Dr. Joseph Baunoch will officiate. Family and friends may view the service livestream on George’s obituary page of the funeral home website. All are welcome to gather in the funeral home parking lot at 12:30 for the procession to Allied Veterans Cemetery for the committal service. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Navy and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
