Thomas A Doran

Thomas Anthony “Tom” Doran, 77, of Marysville, died Monday, December 21, 2020.

He was born May 28, 1943 in Detroit to the late Walter and Margaret Doran. He married Diana L. Shepherd on January 3, 1963 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Tom served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and Cuban Missile Blockade. He worked for Chrysler for 34 years, first at Detroit Forge and then as a Union Steward for Local #375 in Marysville, until his retirement in 1999. Tom then enjoyed working at Meijer in the garden center for 14 years. He and Diana loved cruising the Caribbean, and gambling, especially slot machines and poker.

Tom is survived by his wife of 57 years, Diana; two sons, Thomas A. (Shelly) Doran Jr. and Gary W. (Constance) Doran; three grandchildren, Whitney, Paige and Drake; a sister, Sharon (Edwin) Shepherd; two brothers, Dennis (Bonnie) Doran and Walter (Dawn) Doran; and nieces and nephews, Larry, Linda, William “Billy”, Roxanne, Rochelle, Tonya, Dennis, Lori, Alicia, Rachel, Ashley and Drew.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald (Dale) Doran; and a niece, Deanna Doran.

Private family services have been held. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the United Way of St. Clair County.
