John Jay Davis Sr.

November 9th, 1943 to December 22nd, 2020

John Jay Davis Sr., 77, of Port Huron, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 22, 2020.

He was born November 9, 1943 in Port Huron to the late Doris and Lee Davis II.

John retired from Mueller Brass after 33 years of service. He was a motorcycle fanatic that loved going on rides with various groups and friends. He also was an avid golfer and bowler and especially enjoyed bowling in the Zebra Bar Sunday men’s league for over 40 years. John was known for putting on fireworks shows over the 4th of July. His sense of humor, fondness for “stirring the pot”, and trickster personality will be fondly remembered by his family and friends.

John is survived by his children, John (Venessa) Davis Jr, HannahBell Welsh, Doris Davis and Susan Rucker; grandchildren, Joshua (Lindzy), Donavin (Erin), Mark Jr., Marilynn, Austin, Malachi and Isiah; great grandchildren, Zoey, Gabe and Emma; siblings, Judy Wamsley, Lee (Nadine) Davis III, Paul Davis and Matt Davis; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by good friends, Tom Woolman and Corky Mathews; and the love of his life, Kathy Bressette. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Because of John’s love of fireworks and the 4th of July, a memorial celebration is being planned for July 2021. Please refer back to the funeral home website for updates.

Memorials may be made to the family (checks payable to John Davis Jr. and mailed to the funeral home).

Arrangements are by Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
