Margaret R Russ

September 19th, 1941 to January 5th, 2021

Margaret Rose Russ, 79, of Fort Gratiot, died Tuesday, January 5, 2021.

She was born September 19, 1941 in Port Huron to the late Joseph and Margaret Hudy.

Margie had a life-long career at AT&T. She enjoyed traveling to Shipshewana with Rick and Ruth and was always up for an adventure. She had a passion for those she loved and is happy to be reunited with the love of her life, Herman. To greet her are her fur babies, Buffy, Sampson and Micah, and she’s comforted to know that her Figaro will continue to be loved on this earth until they are reunited again in Heaven. Some of her most cherished moments were with her niece, Angela and her husband, Mark, up at the cottage, at Sunday dinners and taking golf cart rides. When you remember Margie, remember her kind heart, beautiful smile and infectious laugh. She was a character with an unforgettable sense of humor. Think of her when you enjoy your favorite dessert, with extra whipped cream.

She is survived by her niece, Angela (Mark) Smith-Snyder; nephew, Rodney Fraelich; brother-in-law, Ronald Fraelich; treasured cat, Figaro; and long-time special friends, Rick and Ruth Burns, Robin Burns, Doug Hall and Freida Pekarek. She was preceded in death by husbands, Herman Ward and Victor “Skip” Russ; and sister, Gail Fraelich.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2021 in Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township. The family asks to honor social distancing requirements and to please wear face coverings.

In remembrance of Margie, please send memorial contributions to the Blue Water Humane Society.
