Luanne E Carlisle

Luanne Elaine Carlisle, 85, of Fort Gratiot, died Wednesday, January 6, 2021.

She was born July 5, 1935 in Detroit to the late Nathaniel and Harriet Hughes. She married Marvin Carlisle on September 5, 1953 in Detroit. He died October 3, 2000 after 47 years of marriage.

Luanne and her husband raised AKC Irish and English Setters for show and hunting for many years. She was an avid gardener and bowler.

She is survived by three children, Vicki Carlisle of Fort Gratiot, Lorri Hatch of Port Huron and Glenn (Jill) Carlisle of Wyoming; a son-in-law, Donald Garvin; 11 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a half-sister, Rhonda Jimenez of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Garvin in 2020; a son, Scott Carlisle in 2019; and a brother, Jack Hughes in 2020.

Services will be announced at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
