Mary Ann DeMartino

Mary Ann DeMartino, 85, of Chesterfield Township, died Wednesday, January 6, 2021.

She was born May 17, 1935 in Detroit to the late Archie E. and Anna M. Whaley. She married Gregory DeMartino Sr. on April 11, 1956 in Detroit. He died August 29, 2017.

Mary Ann was a devoted mother and homemaker. She worked as a teacher’s aide with Detroit Public Schools for several years while her children were young. She enjoyed needlepoint and was a gifted seamstress who made many clothes for her family. This talent led her to a job at Joanne Fabrics where she worked for many years in Detroit and Port Huron.

She is survived by four children, Gregory DeMartino Jr., Kathleen Ann DeMartino, Joseph (Sue) DeMartino and David (Barbara) DeMartino; six grandchildren, Sarah (Gary) Kunkel, Emily (Travis) McKillip and Becca, Jessica, Stephen and Cody DeMartino; three great great grandchildren, Gary, Gavin and Autumn; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Adam DeMartino.

Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 18, 2021 in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Deacon Dennis Crimmins will officiate.
