Frances L Fowler

October 16th, 1927 to January 12th, 2021

Frances Louise Fowler, was born Frances Louise Holdman on October 16, 1927 in Schlater, Mississippi to the union of Harry Holdman and Susie Coleman Triplett.

Frances accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized.

After the death of their father Harry, the family moved to Greenwood, Mississippi where Frances received her formal education in the Mississippi Public School System.

Frances and her family moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1945 where her mother married Daddy Frank Wilson. She began working at Spartus Camera Corporation. From there she went on to hold other factory positions until starting her career with the United States Postal Service in 1969, where she remained until her retirement in 1992.

Frances met Corporal Luster Fowler and after a short courtship was united in holy matrimony on November 27, 1948. While living in Chicago they joined Freewill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Reverend Lee Howard Ivy. There she faithfully served on the Usher Board until she moved to Port Huron in 1983.

Frances joined Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church in the 90’s where she faithfully served many years before moving her membership to Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Reverend Ben McClinton. Despite health challenges, Frances served on the Mother Board, the Kitchen Committee, and was a Prayer Warrior and Senior Advisor to the youth until the pandemic prevented her attendance.

Frances went from Labor to Reward on January 12, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, stepfather, two sisters, brother, husband, four nephews and two nieces.

Frances leaves to cherish her memories, one niece, Juanita (Harold) King of Chicago; two nephews, Lawrence Holdman of Port Huron and Phillip Holdman of Chicago; niece, Julia (Van) French; one special cousin John H. “Buddy” Holdman of Chicago; godson, Rachman Holdman of Washington D.C.; one special sister, Gloria Stuckey of Flint; special friends, Lee Richards, the Shoulders family, Brenda Thornton, Elder Frederick Thornton, all of Port Huron; grand nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends, too numerous to mention.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2021 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A limited number of people will be allowed in at a time. Please wear a mask for the safety and comfort of others.

Funeral Services will be held at noon on Monday, January 25, 2021 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend Edward Beavers will officiate. Friends and family may view the service livestream on Frances’ obituary page of the funeral home website.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
