Faith I Hunter

July 1st, 1945 to March 7th, 2021
Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of our beloved mother, Faith Irene Hunter.

Faith, 75, of Smiths Creek, began her heavenly journey on March 7, 2021 in the comfort of her home.

She was born July 1, 1945 to the late Lillian Sexton and John Dickensheets. She was married to William Hunter who she often referred to as the “fun loving husband” for 24 plus years.

She is survived by four devoted children, and their father Leroy; Allen Smith, his children, Amber (Chase), Ashley, Casey, Brandon and Kyle; Lonnie (Cheryl) Smith, their children, Meghan (Eddie), Darlyn (Jeremy), Serena (Nathan), Kailey (Mitch), Sydney (Tyler), and Lawson; Carrie (Matt) Smith, their children, Colton, Macara, and Jimmy; Carter Smith, his children, Carter Jr, Gracie and Mason; and her inherited daughter, Jill (Hunter) Denny. With the next generation growing abundantly she leaves eleven great grandchildren who she absolutely adored; extended siblings, Carrie, Connie, Candy, Jim Sexton Jr, and Ricky (Nancy) Sexton; special friends, Carol Hanson and Maureen O’Boyle; her “bestest” friend, Denise Sharpe; and lifelong friend, Linda “Pokey” Hunter.

She leaves behind a very large garden of love that she so selflessly and unconditionally nurtured through the years, as she soared, gently touching so many with her feathers of compassion.

She was a faithful “Good Wife”, loving mother, doting grandmother and a loyal friend.

She was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Moose Lodge for 21 years. She enjoyed traveling; their “Floridy home”, conservative shopping, a loud game of rummy, and “a quiet little drink”; but most of all her true passion in life was making memories with her family and friends.

She was anticipating her journey home and being reunited at the heavenly gates by the ones who have gone before her; her husband Bill Hunter, her sister Shirley Dickensheets, her dear family friends Billy Mac and Randy Lee Lumpford.
