Arthur Claude Douglas “Art” “Buck” Green, 81, of Burtchville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 14, 2021.
He was born October 5, 1939 in Port Huron to the late Claude and Blanche Green. He married the love of his life, Ruthann Crawford, on April 2, 1966 in Port Huron and they were married for 41 years before her death in 2007.
Arthur was a 1958 graduate of Sandusky High School. He held many jobs over the course of his life and held three jobs at one time so the family could have what they needed. He loved farming, gardening, fishing, and playing pool in his younger days.
Seeing Fort Gratiot Township expand in 1982, he moved the family north to Skidway Lake, Michigan. He called northern Michigan “God’s Country.” During this time, Art went to work in the State Forest clearing fallen trees. His family affectionately called these years his “Paul Bunyan phase.”
He is survived by his three children, Claudette Lunney of Port Huron, Brenda Green of Smiths Creek and Claude Green of Muskegon; six grandchildren, Melissa (Tom) Harnden of Port Huron, Jennifer (Rob) Liverman of Oneida, Tennessee, Aaron (Natoshia) Lunney of Croswell, Joshua Clark of Bay City, Bradley (Tanja) Lunney of Glenmora, Louisiana, and Brianna Lunney (Rob) of Clinton Township; 11 great grandchildren, Marissa, Sherry, Lea, Jayden, Saphira, Landon, Charles, Naomi, Malia, Elliot and Michelle; three sisters, Roseanne Leonard and Liz Anglebrandt of Bay City and June (Kevin) Askevich of Comins; a brother and sister-in-law, Fred (Merlene) Crawford of Croswell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Floyd Anglebrandt; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Leona Crawford; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Carl Austin; brother-in-law, James Crawford Jr.; son-in-law, Paul Lunney; and nephews, Ralph and Fred Machulis.
Visitation will be held at 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A limited number of people will be allowed in at a time. Please wear a mask for the safety and comfort of others.
A private service will follow at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2021 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Pastor Josh Woods will officiate.
Burial will be in Kinney Cemetery, Clyde Township.
