Francile Ann Daggett, 83, of Marysville, died Saturday, March 20, 2021.
She was born June 13, 1937 in Port Huron to the late Grace Lucille and Vincent Maurice Tate and was a lifelong area resident. She married James E. Daggett on October 13, 1956. He preceded her in death on January 12, 2020 after 63 years of marriage.
Fran graduated from Port Huron High School in 1955. After high school, she worked for Michigan Bell Telephone and the Marysville United Methodist Church as a secretary. Later, she began her career as a librarian with Marysville Public Schools, spending most of her time at Washington Elementary, and also working at Morton Elementary and Marysville Middle School. After retirement, Fran enjoyed volunteering with the Port Huron Hospital Auxiliary making hats for newborns and working on the annual Festival of Trees. She loved golfing, gardening and bowling in her younger years. Fran was a lifetime member of Marysville United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.
She is survived by two daughters, Laura (Tim) O’Boyle and Lisa (Joe) Redford; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; two sisters, Cindy Downing and Beverly Pratt; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Daggett; and daughter-in-law, Beth Daggett.
A private service for Fran’s immediate family will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 in the Marysville Funeral Home. Friends may view the service livestream by visiting Fran’s obituary page on the funeral home website. The Reverend Curtis Clarke will officiate.
Inurnment will be in the Riverlawn Cemetery Columbarium, Marysville.
