Richard C. “Dick” Yeager, 70, of St. Clair, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 3, 2021.
He was born January 29, 1951 in St. Clair to the late John and Charlotte Yeager. He married his high school sweetheart, Janet Lewis.
Dick and Janet’s perfect love story started on April 3, 1970 and ended on their 51st anniversary, April 3, 2021, due to the devastating disease COVID-19. He had unfinished future memories with his family: holding a 50th wedding anniversary family celebration in Hawaii, restoring a vintage Mustang with a special neighbor, watching his children build their own homesteads, and mentoring his grandchildren.
Dick was a 1969 graduate of Marysville High School. He built his legacy as a plumber through Plumbers Local 98 Detroit as a foreman or general foreman. The most memorable work sites were the Detroit Tigers Comerica Ball Park and the GM Tech Center, where he had worked with his sons, and also the Chrysler Marysville Facility, Medical Gas Division of Pace Mechanical, and major hospital facilities. Dick also loved exploring by going on many sentimental hunting trips for elk and caribou.
Dick had strong beliefs and morals which he would not back down from. He was a master craftsman. He was happiest when he was teaching, mentoring, and loving those around him. Dick was an incredibly hardworking and loving family man.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; four children, Kelley, Daniel (Stacey), Christopher (Jamie) and Carrie (Len) McIntyre; grandchildren, Lenny and Lauren McIntyre, CheyAnne Yeager, Jack and Kara Yeager, and Austin (Chelsea) Bedford; a brother, John (Dixie) Yeager; sister-in-law, Margaret Yeager; special niece, Shirley Warren; other nieces and nephews; and many special friends, too many to mention. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary (Jim) Warren; and three brothers, James Yeager, Robert (Glenda) Yeager and William Yeager; in-laws, Stanley and Lavern Lewis, and Judi (Jim) Trumble.
