Robert F. “Rob” Schmitt, 62, of Royal Oak, died Thursday, April 15, 2021.
He was born November 10, 1958 in Port Huron to Katherine and the late Robert Schmitt.
Rob was a mechanical engineer with BAE Systems, Inc. He previously worked with NASA on space suits in Houston, TX.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, drinking beer, tinkering and discussing politics.
He is survived by his son, Taylor Raufus; mother, Katherine Schmitt; siblings, Paul Schmitt, John Schmitt, Mary (Tim) Kramer and Thomas Schmitt; and several nieces.
Services will be held at a later date.
