Billy Joe Moncrief, 70, of Ypsilanti, died Thursday, May 13, 2021. He was born October 25, 1950 in Port Huron to the late Ethel Thomason and Silas Moncrief Jr. He married Flora Mae “Nancy” Enoch on January 11, 1976 in Port Huron.
Joe served in the United States Air Force. He was a counselor and probation officer for the State of Michigan for many years before his retirement. He enjoyed helping others, talking politics and watching sports, especially high school and U of M basketball.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nancy; daughters, Michelle Moncrief and Ashley (Cilranus) Thompson; grandchildren, Emmanuel and Emerie Thompson; brothers and sisters, Louis (Marilyn) Moncrief, Timothy Thomason, Eliza Lee Scott, Patsy Mae Stallworth, Elona Louise Thomason and James G. Moncrief; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Moncrief.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A limited number of people will be allowed in at a time. Please wear a mask for the comfort and safety of others.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021 in Restoration Christian Community Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Carl Miller will officiate.
Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Air Force and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
