Obituary

Robert Allen Colgan, 64, of Clyde, died Thursday, May 20, 2021 in Tomlinson A.F.C. after a courageous battle with Lewy Body Disease, a form of dementia.

He was born July 24, 1956 in Port Huron to the late Robert S. and Virginia Colgan. He married Diana Boland on May 5, 1984 in Smiths Creek.

Bob was a 1974 graduate of Marysville High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Sienna Heights College. During his career he was a machine programmer at Wirtz Manufacturing, a vehicle designer for Blue Water Plastics and also did contracting. He loved hunting, fishing and the family cabin in Lewiston. He was a member of the Clyde Historical Society and was the top cook for their annual Ox Roast. He attended Colonial Woods Missionary Church.

He is survived by his wife, Diana; his son, Robert Paul Colgan of Edinburgh, Scotland, and fiancé, Rachel Lossing; a sister, Gail (Andrew) Rosales of Marysville; a brother, Eric (Susie) Colgan of Smiths Creek; several nieces and nephews; his wife’s siblings, William (Vida) Boland, Kim Bankson, all of Port Huron and JoEllen Boland of Illinois; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter in 1986 and by his sister, Debbie Ellis, in 2008.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2021 in Colonial Woods Missionary Church. The Reverend Brian Ake will officiate.

Burial will be in Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township. Pallbearers will be Walt Gerspach, Cameron and Evan Vandenbossche, Andrew Rosales, Skylar VanDeVeide and Rich Armstrong.
