Carl Leroy Williams Sr., 72, of Clyde Township, died Tuesday, June 22, 2021 after a courageous fight with cancer.
He was born December 30, 1948 in Bad Axe to Mary Jane and the late Alpha Floyd Williams. He married Virginia Ann Kraft on May 29, 1971 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Port Huron.
Mr. Williams graduated from Port Huron Northern High School in 1967 and served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was employed with Acheson Colloids for 35 years prior to his retirement. Carl enjoyed riding his Harley with his brother-in-law, Jim Kraft, and cruising around in his 1969 Camaro. He loved hanging out in his garage with his boys and spending time with his grandchildren. Carl was a hard worker who loved his family with all his heart.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Virginia; three sons, Carl (Christina) Williams Jr., Chris (Jenny) Williams and Craig (Nicole) Williams; six grandchildren, Jasmine, Tyler, Kyle, Kegan, Brayden and Colton; his mother, Mary Jane Williams; two sisters, Mary (Jim) Nedela and Donna (the late Dan) Mason; a brother, Bill (Vicki) Williams; his godmother, Martha Coleman; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, June 28, 2021 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Carl’s nephew, Brian Kirkpatrick, will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
