Bernard Charles “Gus” Hunter, 76, of Kimball Township, died Friday, July 2, 2021.
He was born October 19, 1944 in Port Huron to the late Harley and Dorothy Hunter.
Gus served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war and was a recipient of the two Purple Hearts. He graduated from Marysville High School. Gus owned and operated Bernard’s Hair Salon and All-American Hair Designs in Marysville for many years. He was an adventurous person who enjoyed boating and traveling all over the country and the world. Gus loved music and always had a radio playing in the background.
He is survived by a niece, Jill Hunter (Denny Hoornaert); a nephew, David (Annette) Hunter; and many cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and William Hunter.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, July 8, 2021 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Curtis Clarke will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
