Irene E Briggs

Irene Eleanor Briggs, 88, of Lexington, formerly of Port Huron, died Friday, July 9, 2021.

She was born February 13, 1933 in Port Huron to the late Elmer and Margaret Mary Fischer.

Irene was a graduate of Marysville High School. She and her husband owned and operated Briggs Industries. She was a woman ahead of her time who enjoyed gardening and was an artist. Family was everything to her, and she loved them dearly.

She is survived by two children, Lee (Kim) Briggs and Cindy (Rocky) Rogers; grandchildren, Lisa (Tony) Sachs, Kristina (Brad) Goodwin, RJ (Stephanie) Rogers, Jessica (Ben) Hewitt and Cassie Briggs; great grandchildren, Piper Rogers, Abbi Hewitt; Oliver Sachs and Raegan Hewitt; sister, Beatrice (Don) Richardson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Malon Jerry Briggs Sr.; two sons, Michael L. Briggs and Malon Jerry Briggs Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Ruth Briggs; two sisters, Erma Madelyn (Grant) McCade and Margaret Mary (Keith) Stevenson.

Private Services will be held in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.
