Dolly E Harrington
Dolly E. Harrington, 91, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 27, 2021.
She was born August 16, 1929 in Cass City, Michigan to the late Maynard and Annie DeLong. She married Claude J. “Peanuts” Harrington on October 7, 1950 in Port Huron. He went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2007.
Dolly graduated from Port Huron High School in 1947. A longtime member of Griswold Street Baptist Church, she was a willing volunteer, and served as a Sunday School teacher for over 35 years. She also loved her various roles in the Ladies Missionary Circle, sang in the choir during her early years and enjoyed preparing for many special events at church. She also was a volunteer for Port Huron Hospital Auxiliary for many years and was an active ambassador for Youth for Christ International. Dolly delighted in gardening, was an avid reader, and shared her books with many. She loved her home and was ready at an instant to prepare a dinner for someone or whip up a batch of her raisin nut tarts.
She is survived by three children, Cindy (Jim) Clousing of Wheaton, Illinois, Terry (Becky) Harrington of Port Huron and Scott (Sue) Harrington of Warren; seven grandchildren, Brad (Kate) Clousing and Jeff (Michelle) Clousing, all of Wheaton, Illinois, Carrie (Matt) Stowell of Naples, Florida, Jenna Hall of Port Huron, Katie (Ben) Tillman of Hays, Kansas, Eric (Amanda) Harrington of Gardner, Kansas, and Alexandria Harrington of Warren; 16 great grandchildren, Ana, Grace, Braden, Kelsey, Maggie, Claire, Kellen, Ryan, Drew, Jack, Hank, Duke, Sadie, Bearett, Gideon and Thaddeus; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, July 31, 2021 in Griswold Street Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. The Reverend Tim North and the Reverend Lee Bracey will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
