Obituary

Kimiko Astalos, 87, of Port Huron, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Friday, August 6, 2021.

She was born July 7, 1934 in Tokyo, Japan. She married Reverend Ronald F. Astalos on December 28, 1958 in Monroe, Michigan. He died August 17, 2016.

Mrs. Astalos and her husband served as missionaries in Tokyo, Japan for 14 years and she later assisted him in his several Lutheran pastorates in the United States. She also was a translator for Mazda in Flint. She loved quilting and taught Ikebana flower arranging.

She is survived by five children, Jesse Astalos, Mitchell Astalos, Lynn Astalos, Ellen (Eugene) Johnson and Julie (James) Buckbee; eleven grandchildren; Aaron and Sarah Astalos, Nicholas and Kobi Astalos, Cayman and Keana Astalos, Ella, Alicia, Chloe, Jack, and Kenji Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 in Trinity Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Dr. Mark J. Madson and Reverend Robert Mann will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.
