Ronald "R.D." Davis
Ronald Robert “R.D.” Davis, 60, of Port Huron, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
He was born January 3, 1961 in Port Huron to Danny and Phyllis Davis. He married Julie Ann Glombowski on June 9, 1984 in St. Christopher Catholic Church, Marysville.
Ron was a 1979 graduate of Port Huron Central High School. He worked in the skilled trades for 40 years as a journeyman tool maker with Wirtz Manufacturing, Lamb Technicon and most recently, Kimastle. Ron was a classic car enthusiast and especially loved his 1957 Chevy Bel Air and Gasser. He was a sports fanatic who played softball and enjoyed cheering on the Detroit Lions and Red Wings and the University of Michigan. Above all, Ron loved his family, was his kids’ biggest fan, and never missed a game.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Julie; a daughter, Jessica (Ben) Dunsmore; a son, Jeremy Davis (Jessica Ross); three grandchildren, Amelia, Aaron and Peyton; his parents, Phyllis and Sam Byrd; a brother, Jeffery (Benita) Davis; a sister, Jody (Carl) Davis-Coon; step-brothers, Shannon (Tina) Byrd and Shane Byrd; sister-in-law, Brenda Wickings; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jamie & Marcy Cameron and Jack & Kristy Helwig. He was preceded in death by his father, Dan Glenn Davis; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leonard and Joyce Glombowski; and a brother-in-law, Raymond Wickings Jr.
Please join in celebrating Ron's life on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Goodells Park, West Exhibit Barn, 8264 County Park Drive, Goodells. Refreshments and dinner will be provided. Let's share our memories and bring your classic car to honor Ron.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Fallen Heroes Banner Project through the Community Foundation of St. Clair County honoring local service people killed during wartime.
