Lon R Hischke
Lon Raymond Hischke, 79, of Marysville, died Monday, August 30, 2021.
He was born October 16, 1941 in Detroit to the late Rudolph and Mary Hischke. He married Nancy Melling on October 2, 1964 in Detroit.
Mr. Hischke was a firefighter with the City of Detroit. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church. Lon enjoyed playing the guitar, going on vacations and doing handyman projects and mechanical repairs, including heating and air conditioning work.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; three children, Jeff (Debbie) Hischke, David (Debbie) Hischke and Dawn (Ted Coons) Hischke; grandchildren, Allison Hischke, Christopher (Emma) Hischke, Samantha McArt, Timothy Hischke, Tessa (Zach) Penzien and Melissa Bratton; great grandchildren, Lyra & Emilia Hischke, Logan & Landon McArt, Nathaniel, Michaela & Caroline DeLuna, Liliana Penzien and Chloe Hischke; a brother, Dan (Debbie) Hischke; a sister, Loretta (Frederick “Rick”) Zucchero and a brother-in-law, Roy Packard. He was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary Packard.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in the Marysville Funeral Home. A scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Mr. Hischke will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2021 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Reverend James Arwady will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Navy.
