Janet H. Rich, 82, of Fort Gratiot, died Sunday, September 5, 2021 after a six-month battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born June 27, 1939 in Port Huron to the late Earl and Hazel Bowns.
Janet graduated from Port Huron High School in 1957. She worked for Earl C. Smith Trucking and retired from the St. Clair County Health Department after 29 years. She was a member of Griswold Street Baptist Church and had many special friends there. Janet was a big Detroit Tigers fan and enjoyed crocheting and making crafts for family and friends. She always listened to 90.7 Hope FM radio.
She is survived by her children, William (Diana) Rich Jr. and Tamara (Mitch) Crane; grandchildren, Jamie (Jason) Struthers, Kelly Kriesch (Nicholas Giachetti) and Taylor McKinstry; great grandchildren, Emily Kriesch, Abigail Struthers, John Palacios and Kaitlyn Willis; a sister, Kathleen French; nephew, Rodney French; and niece, Lori Anderson. She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Eldon French; and special friend, Arlen Stein.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Dr. Tim North and Pastor Joel Mitchell will officiate.
Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township. Pallbearers will be Rod French, Dave Frizzle, Terry Lash, Clint Sharrard, Jason Struthers and Richard Redford.
