Janet Louise Aldrich, 72, of Kimball Township, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.
She was born October 3, 1948 in Port Huron to the late Ray E. and Doris J. Thornton. She married Kenneth R. Aldrich on April 30, 1971 in Port Huron. He passed away on November 14, 2014.
Janet worked as a hairdresser, in various capacities at Port Huron Hospital, and as an in-home caregiver during her career. What she loved most was any role that allowed her to take care of and help others. Janet was a lifelong member of Hillside Wesleyan Church where she taught Sunday School and enjoyed attending Bible study. She liked bowling, shopping and wintering in Riverview, Florida. Janet loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Jodi (Daniel) Dunkin and Jennifer (Bryan) Strauss; five grandchildren, Kimberley (Anthony) Flores, Kennedy and Jack Dunkin, Addison and Cooper Strauss; a great grandson, Luke Flores; two sisters, Carol (Ed) Robertson and Linda Kay (Loy) Wood; several nieces, nephews and close cousins; and her faithful kitty, Charlie.
Visitation will be held 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 13, 2021 in Hillside Wesleyan Church. The Reverend William Kinnan Jr. will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fort Gratiot Township.
