James William “Jay” Kovach, 64, of Port Huron Township, died Saturday, October 16, 2021.
He was born October 12, 1957 in Port Huron to James and the late Mary Lou Kovach. He married Ann Reynolds on August 25, 1978 in Port Huron.
Jay was a conductor for CN Railroad for over 40 years. He was a 1976 graduate of Port Huron Central High School where he played sports. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ann; children, April Kovach, Christine (Max) Kustowski, Jason (Nicki) Kovach and Scot Kovach (Acacia Harris); father, James Kovach; 12 grandchildren; three sisters, Debbie Mainguy, Barb Foley and Julie Cowdry; mother-in-law, Joan Reynolds; brother-in-law, Jack Reynolds; sisters-in-law, Jody (Jeff) Norris and Audrey (Gilbert) Foree; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in the Marysville Funeral Home. Deacon Dennis Crimmins will officiate.
