Kawayne M Cureton
Kawayne “Kawon” McNeal Cureton Sr., 47, of Port Huron, passed away from this life and into eternal life, Monday, October 25, 2021.
He was born May 24, 1974 in Port Huron to Leonarda “Lynn” Cureton and Gerald “Jerry” Jones and was a life-long area resident.
Kawon was a 1993 graduate of Port Huron Northern High School. He excelled at a variety of sports such as baseball, basketball, and football. He also enjoyed bowling and pool and was an avid dominos player. He had a special gift as the family pit boss and grill master! He loved sharing his laughter with family and friends and loved them with every fiber in his being.
He is survived by ten children, whom he loved dearly, Kwanae, Adriyana, Tyler, Marquan, Kawayne Jr., Monea, KorDay, K.C., McNeal and Jaden Cureton; eight grandchildren; his parents, Gerald Jones and Leonarda Cureton; three siblings, Shyra (Kevin) Hajarie, Ulanda Braxton and Melissa Thomas; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Kawon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard and Catherine Cureton, Harold Joe Jones, Janeaster and William H. Miller Sr.; uncle, Gerald M. Cureton; niece, KeShyra Cairylyn Hajarie; cousins, Dwaine “Roppa” Thigpen Jr. and Domonic Lee; and best friend/brother, Robert Wright Sr..
A homegoing celebration will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 in Kingdom Authority Ministries in Port Huron with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Carl E. Miller Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Pollock Randall Funeral Home.
