Richard G Gilbert

Richard Gordon Gilbert, 83, of Fort Gratiot, died Monday, November 1, 2021.

He was born January 6, 1938 in Port Huron to the late Charles and Lucille Gilbert. He married Jane Duff on July 27, 1968. She died December 9, 2019.

Mr. Gilbert graduated from Michigan State University and was an art teacher with the Marysville School District for many years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed calligraphy, wintering in Florida and following the Michigan State Spartans. He was a member of the Port Huron Yacht Club.

He is survived by sisters-in-law, Doris Meade and Joan (Tom) Pawloski; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, William and Robert Gilbert.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2021 in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 12, 2021 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Chaplain Robert Bert of the Port Huron Yacht Club will officiate.
