Mary Lee Hill

February 12th, 1921 to November 30th, 2011

Mary Lee Hill, 90, of Port Huron, departed this life on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 in her home under the care of Blue Water Hospice, after a long illness.

Mary was born in Uniontown, Alabama, on February 12, 1921 to the late Emily and James Witherspoon.

Mary was introduced to Christ at an early age and baptized. She attended school in Uniontown, Alabama. Mary was a member of the Historic Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she attended faithfully until she became ill. Mary enjoyed her life as a homemaker. She also loved attending her family reunions where she had the opportunity to connect with other family members. She adored and treasured her grandchildren and great grands.

Mary leaves to treasure her life’s memories her three daughters, Ida Bell (John) Kidd, Dorothy Hill and Delores (Curtis) Crews; two sons, Willie E. Hill and James (Linda) Hill, all of Port Huron; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Minnie Witherspoon of Port Huron; a brother-in-law, Robert Hill of Bayshore, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie F. Hill; a brother, James Witherspoon; and a sister, Eva Hunter.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2011 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at noon. Elder John E. Thornton will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
