William A Green
William A. Green, 88, of Marysville, died Monday, November 8, 2021 in his home after a long illness.
He was born August 11, 1933 in Port Huron to the late Stanley & Julia Green. He married Joan N. Hunt on January 2, 1953 in Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Port Huron.
Bill served with the U.S. Navy on an aircraft carrier during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Marysville American Legion Post #449. He was employed with Port Huron Paper/Domtar for 42 years. He was very proud of his family’s German heritage. The most important thing in Bill’s life was his family and providing for them.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joan; a daughter, Linda A. Bowers of Marysville; a son, William S. (Lila) Green; grandchildren, Gary Siler, Jennifer (Gabriel) Mehlberg and Alexis Arp (Fred Ruiz); great grandchildren, Alex Case, Seth Mehlberg, Alayna and Olivia Arp and Peyton Ruiz; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Marcy Siler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Julia; and brother, Donald F. Green.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at noon.
Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Navy and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
