Lewis Donald Dove, 96, of Avoca, died Wednesday, December 8, 2021.
He was born October 30, 1925 in Goodells to the late Donald and Francis (Priess) Dove. He married Esther N. Mericle on August 1, 1953 in Port Huron.
Lewis was a 1941 graduate of Port Huron High School. He was a carpenter and farmer for most of his life. He loved hunting and farming.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Esther; sons, Lewis (Wendy) Dove, Gerald (Marilyn) Dove, Donald (Diana) Dove and Daryl Dove; eight grandchildren, Aaron Dove (Sarah Root), Andrea Zinzo Dove (Scott Stiles), Gerald (Jess) Dove Jr., Tanya Dove (Rick Rodriguez), Jeremy Dove (Courtney Peters), Daryl Dove Jr., Jeremiah Dove and Leigh Dove; and 12 great grandchildren, Macie, Caden, Harlynn, Conner, Cara, Ava, Taylor, Gracie, Bria, Lucas, Blake and Giovanni. He was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Keogh.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, December 12, 2021 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 13, 2021 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Pastor Jim Mead will officiate.
Burial will be in Ruby Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lewis’ grandsons and great grandsons.
