Gene Raymond Stone, 78, of Burtchville Township, died peacefully at home on Thursday, December 9, 2021.
He was born June 21, 1943 in Port Huron to the late Uno and Mary Stone. He married Margaret “Peggy” Herber on January 8, 1983.
Mr. Stone was employed with Kroger for 56 years, working in various capacities, including managing several stores and working with computer systems. He was an avid card player and loved Euchre, watching the Tigers, going to casinos, traveling and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Peggy;” eight children, Ardell McDonald, Cheryl Kingsbury, David Joe Kingsbury, Raymond (Claudine) Stone, Judi Stone (Rick Woolman), Gene (Leslie) Stone, Blake Stuart (Scott Biland) and Matthew Silver; 17 grandchildren, Brenda, David, Kerry Jo, David, Andrew, Vivian, Holli, Corey, Keaton, Claire, Claudia, Catie, Tyler, Tanton, Breanna, Christopher, and Chloe; 15 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Wark; two brothers, Phil Stone and Rick (Linda) Stone; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Fred Wark.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 17, 2021 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Chaplain Catherine Jo McMaken will officiate.
Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township. Pallbearers will be Keaton, Claire, Claudia and Corey Woolman, Chloe Stuart and Tanton Stone.
