Obituary

Carolyn Mae Stark, 85, of Marysville, died Saturday, December 18, 2021.

She was born October 29, 1936 to the late Lawrence and Hazel Hand. She married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Eugene Stark on June 29, 1957 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Port Huron.

Carolyn graduated from Marysville High School in 1954. She was employed with Marysville Public Schools for 20 years until her retirement in 1998. Carolyn especially loved spending time with her family, her greatest pride and joy. Her happiest times were spent with her children and grandchildren, camping and vacationing. She was a member of Marysville United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Thomas; three daughters, Becky (David) Tomaszewski, Sally Prince and Amy (Christopher) Baur; two sons, Larry Stark and Stephen (Regina) Stark; nine grandchildren, Sarah (Jordan) Swears, Bethany Tomaszewski, Madison Stark, Trevor (Jordan) Prince, Caitlin Prince, Marissa (Jeffrey) Huysentruyt, Benjamin (Kelsey) Stark, Alexander (Maranda) Baur and Jake Baur; two great grandchildren, River Swears and Charlotte Prince; two sisters, Diane (Cecil) Bobo of Florida and Laura (David) Toombs of Kentucky; and sister-in-law, Dorrie Stark of Marysville. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter in 1966; and Thomas’ siblings, Harry Stark and Donna and Jim Gwisdala.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 in the Marysville Funeral Home, 1200 Michigan Ave.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 in the funeral home. The Reverend Curtis Clarke of Marysville United Methodist Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville. Mrs. Starks grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Memorial contributions may be made to Marysville United Methodist Church, Kids in Distress or the Dementia & Alzheimer’s Resource Committee of St. Clair County.
