Samantha "Sharon" Perez

Samantha “Sharon” Perez, 79, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

She was born October 28, 1942 in Detroit to the late Samuel F. and Elizabeth J. Perez.

In her teens, Sharon treasured the time she and her siblings spent in Detroit with Grandma Jo. She graduated in 1960 from St. Anthony High School in Detroit. Over the years Sharon worked for Sears, the Detroit Free Press, her brother’s 7-11 store and she even drove a taxi cab. Sharon was a self-taught handwriting analyst and her results were amazingly accurate! She enjoyed writing poetry and loved cooking…you never left her house hungry. She was a volunteer with Special Olympics of Michigan and also at her grandchildren’s schools. Sharon was very kind hearted and loved her family dearly.

She is survived by three children, Edward (Tammi) Steinert, Sharon Steinert (Rich Smith) and Michael (Leah) Steinert; five grandchildren, Jeffrey (Nicole) Quaine, Christina Steinert-Castillo (Amos Castillo), Brendan (Luisa) Quaine, Raelene Quaine (Johnie Baker) and Jennifer Steinert (Paul Buck); eleven great grandchildren, Carley, Teagan, Kaylynn, Aiden, Eddie, Adriana, Austyn, Jaxon, Gracie, Avery and Aria; sister, Joanne (Ron) Hartson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Perez.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 26, 2021 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Reverend Brian Cokonougher will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.
