Obituary

Lester Edmund “Les” Green, 88, of Port Huron, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021, following a lengthy illness.

He was born on November 8, 1933 in Detroit to the late Horace and Molly Green.

Les graduated from Port Huron High School and enlisted in the United States Airforce where he served in the Korean War. After four years he was honorably discharged and began a job with Chrysler Missile working in Turkey and Italy. He later worked for Southeastern Michigan Gas Company before starting a 25-year career as a journeyman electrician for the Detroit Edison Company.

In 1962, on a blind date Les met the love of his life, Gloria, in Port Huron, Michigan. Les and Gloria went on to be married for more than 58 years and have two daughters, Beth Anne and Tracy.

In 1995, Les retired from DTE and enjoyed golfing and spending time with family. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served on the board of elders. He was a Christian and committed to serving his Savior Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; daughters, Beth Anne (Don) Ross and Tracy (Brad) Brown; granddaughters, Courtnie (Nathan) Chau, Caycie (Tommy) Marciniak, Cecelie (Ryan) Eginton and Celsie Ross; great-granddaughters, Hadley Grace Eginton and Kingsley Rey Marciniak; and close friend and work-buddy Preston Schroeder. Les was preceded in death by parents, Horace and Molly; and his siblings, Kathleen, Ellen and Thomas.

Visitation will be from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 2022 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 17, 2022 in Trinity Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Dr. Mark Madson will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the many family members and friends that have helped, supported and prayed for them during this difficult time as well the special nurses and aides through McLaren Hospice that made his final time at home possible.
