James L Eveningred

James Lloyd Eveningred, 80, of Port Huron Township, died Wednesday, December 29, 2021.

He was born April 10, 1941 in Port Huron to the late Lloyd A. and Clara Eveningred and grew up in Marysville. He married Diane Ashton on January 14, 1967 in St. John’s United Church of Christ, Port Huron. She died March 10, 2020 after 53 years of marriage.

Mr. Eveningred was employed with Ford Motor Company for over 30 years, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed cruising in his 1965 GTO with his wife, going to casinos and spending summers at their cabin in Lupton, Michigan. James also loved drag strip racing.

He is survived by two sons, Todd Eveningred and Jason “Jay” Eveningred; a sister, Karen (Randy) Putze; sisters-in-law, Carol Eveningred and Tina (John) Raymond; brothers-in-law, Brad (Kimberly) Ashton and John (Anna) Ashton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Eveningred.

Private family services have been held.
