Royal O "Roy" King

Royal Orrin “Roy” King, 79 of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

He was born December 16, 1942 in Traverse City to the late Donald and Paula King. He married Barbara Schuiteman on August 21, 1971 in Bloomingdale.

Roy retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service and was a member of Marysville American Legion Post #449. He was an over the road truck driver for 40 years and retired from BWP Transport. He enjoyed going to the shooting range, hunting, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and sharing his favorite beverage with friends.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; four children, Donald (Beverly) King, Jeffery (Sandy) King, Tracie (Curt) Witteveen and Angel (Jim) Grosser; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon. on Friday, February 25, 2022 in Hillside Wesleyan Church with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m.. His son, Pastor Jeff King will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Army and the St. Clair Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Burial will be in Allied Veterans Cemetery Columbarium, Port Huron.
