He was born July 20, 1928 in Croswell to Joseph and Margaret Baunoch. He married Jeanie May Holmes on October 25, 1947 in Port Huron. She preceded him in death on January 6, 2015 after 67 years of marriage. Joe loved his family and worked hard to provide for their needs. As a young husband and father, he built the family’s first home on the south side of Port Huron, where they lived until the tornado of May 1953 lifted it from its foundation with his young family inside. Joe was a master sausage maker, excellent automatic transmission specialist, and test car driver for Ford Motor Company at their Proving Grounds in Romeo, Michigan. As an entrepreneur, Joe established and owned Baunoch Trucking Company for more than 40 years, from which he retired. Joe enjoyed fishing, golfing and was an excellent chef. He was also involved in community activities. He was a member of the Burtchville Township Volunteer Fire Department, achieving the rank of Captain. He also helped with Little League and Hockey. Over the years he coordinated and cooked many of the finest roast beef dinners ever held at The Salvation Army Port Huron Citadel. He is survived by five children, The Reverend Dr. Joseph R. (Betty) Baunoch; Patricia (Dr. Robert) Baunoch-Ulrich, Mary Ann (Michael) Richard, Gregory (Melissa) Baunoch and Janice Baunoch; twelve grandchildren, Jennifer Baunoch, Dr. Joseph R.
